Marriage records are available from the Sangamon County Clerk's office. They have marriage records back to 1821, I believe. Address for the Clerk's office is 200 South Ninth, Springfield, IL 62701. There is no reason to believe the person who inquired on the message board is on this list and can see your helpful replies. S/he should be but I don't know that they are. It does seem like the Sangamon County Clerk is high for such records. However, if it is one from 1821 I'd get it from IRAD for $1 and forget the county clerk.
