Here's the obit for Agnes Martin from the State Journal-Register: State Journal-Register, The (Springfield, IL) - July 26, 1997 Deceased Name: Agnes A. Martin Agnes A. Martin 83, of Springfield died Thursday at St. John's Hospital. She was born Nov. 28, 1913, in Lena, the daughter of Peter and Ellen Sullivan McGurk. She married Lewis E. Martin in 1942; he preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Martin, a resident of Springfield most of her life, worked as a receptionist for St. John's Hospital, retiring in 1992 after 20 years of service. She attended Rosary College in River Forrest and graduated from Springfield College in Illinois. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors: three daughters, Anne Kearney of Gloversville, N.Y., Mary Dean of Crete, and Mrs. Gary (Michele) Seelbach of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Monday, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Rev. John Burnett officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery. Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
