Martin K. Davis, a Medal of Honor awardee in the Civil War, was the son of William M. Davis and Susan Kellog who, based on the ages of their children, were married about 1830. Martin was born in 1843 near St Elmo in Fayette County. Their other children were Clarissa, born in 1832; Harriet, born in 1834; Eliza Ann, born in 1841; and Calvin W., born in 1845. In 1850 Susan and her children were in the Springfield household of Samuel Cunningham, Susan's second husband. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
