Obituary - Athens Free Press, 22 March 1946 JOHN H. CANTERBURY, 85, DIES AT ST. JOHN'S HOSPITAL WEDNESDAY, HEART ATTACK John H. Canterbury, 85, retired farmer of Cantrall, died at the St. John's Hospital Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. where he had been taken earlier in the day after suffering a heart attack. He had been a resident of the community his entire lifetime, having been born April 14, 1860. Surviving him are the widow, Elizabeth; two sons, Clair E. and J. Harold of Cantrall; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, William of Springfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Dixon, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Myrtle Hamilton, Harristown, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday from the Mott and Son Funeral Home with Rev. D. K. Teater in charge. Burial will be in Indian Point cemetery.
