Obituary - Athens Free Press, 26 December 1952 WILBER F. CANTRALL, 77, CANTRALL VILLAGE RESIDENT DIES SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21 Wilber F. Cantrall, 77, of Cantrall, a retired rural mail carrier, died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital where he was admitted on December 15 as a medical patient. Mr. Cantrall had been in failing health for some time. He served as a rural mail carrier for 33 years, retiring in 1939. He was a lifelong resident of the Cantrall vicinity, and a member of the Athens Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, Rida; one stepdaughter, Mrs. George Nance, Athens; one sister-in-law, Miss Stella Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. Remains were taken to the Mott and Son Funeral Home, Athens, where services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. J. W. Armstrong in charge. Burial was in Hall cemetery.
