Obituary - Athens Free Press, 18 September 1959 ELLIS S. GRANT DIES THURS., MEMORIAL HOSPITAL Ellis S. Grant, 70, of this city, passed away at Memorial Hospital, Springfield, at 8:55 Thursday morning, where he had been taken two weeks ago following a stroke. He had been in gradually failing health for several months. He was born March 22, 1890, at Cantrall, the son of the late Robert Grant and Mary Canterbury Grant. He had followed farming prior to his retirement. Surviving are the widow, Florence; three sons, Edwin B. and Marshall P., of Springfield, and William R., of Chicago; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Vernon of Greenview, and Sidney, of this city. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
