However, my grandfathers name, and his fathers name is Stanbery. My grandfather remembers that ChrisNeal was his Step grandfather (he always just called him Grandpa). He told me in the past few years he found out that Alsie had a son out of wedlock and that the Neal family gave him his name. This is were it get difficult: according to records Chris, Newton and Ruth were siblings. But on the 1920/1930 census Chris father was born in Ky, Ruths parents were born il (Alsie) and Newtons parents were born in United states (what does that mean). I would like to get a copy of Chris birth records and see what it states. Maybe his father was stanbery/mother Neal and for the times it was they just gave him Neal. Who knows.
