"Elizabeth, wife of Michael Vance....died 10-21-1891 at the home of M.H. Kize." Michael and his wife "Betsey" and lived in Gardner Twp, Sangamon Co. for more than 20 years but it is not known where they were living in 1891 when she died. She was the former Mary Elizabeth Rhea Cruzan before marrying Michael in 1868. Michael was living with his daughter Eliza Evans (Mrs. William) in Williams Twp., Sangamon Co., when he died on 22 Jul 1910. His obituary was published in the IL State Journal 7-24-1900, page 6. I have not seen this obituary. How can I find out where Elizabeth and Michael Vance are buried? Does anyone know who M. H. Kize was? Thanks, Carole

Carole, Mary Elizabeth was the step-mother to my gr-gr-grandmother Mahala (Cruzan) Moyer. I have a cousin out west that would be a direct decedent of Mary Elizabeth and Elias Cruzan and will check with him to see if he knows anything about the final resting place of Mary Elizabeth. I have the names of some of the Cruzan children but I had no idea that they all weren't Betsey's children. Who were the children born to the 1st wife of Elias? I'm not sure if I have all of Betsey's children.
