    3. I'm afraid I'm not going to find what I'm looking for, but maybe someone can help me out. In 1919, in Logan Co, my grandparents and my Mom (now 89) contracted the awful flu that killed so many. An African American family came to their aid and took over the farm work, cooking, everything, including helping to nurse my family back to health. Their last name was Bruner and I find them on the 1920 Logan Co census. The father was John L; the wife Anna May and they had 2 daughters - Lilly May and Ollie. By 1930 they had moved to Sangamon Co and lived between Rochester and Springfield. My grandparents moved to Rochester; and later my parents. In 1949, my grandmother died (Pyle) and one of the two daughters came and stayed with me as a young girl with the measles. I would dearly love to find out if any descendants are still living in the area. I believe Ollie married (she born ca 1904) but I don't have access to any marriage records for that time. I don't know what happened to Lilly; I can't find her on a 1930 census in Sangamon Co so she was either married or deceased (she born 1902). I just wanted to make contact if they left children and say thank you for all they did for my grandparents (deceased), my Mom and me. If anyone has any ideas, I would sincerely appreciate the help as a non African American who owes them a debt of gratitude. Sandi
