Maybe someone could help me, I looking for the death of Ellen Theresa Meenan maiden name Carley. She was born about 1854 in Ireland. Her husband is Thomas Joseph Meenan b. 1849 Liverpool, England / Ireland. There children are Mary Ann Meenan b. 1878 Cambria Co., PA Thomas Meenan b. 1879 John Meenan Nellie Meenan b. 1884 PA Thomas Joseph Meenan and his wife Ellen was found on the 1880 census in Cambria Co., PA with two children Mary Ann and Thomas Meenan Ellen went by the name of Nelly on the 1880 census. Thomas and Ellen's last child was born in 1884. In their daughters obit in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN, Nellie Meenan Davis, she died at the age of 55 and had been a resident of Indianapolis for 40 years, and a native of Springfield, IL. So this is how Sangamon county comes into this family. Ellen does not show up in the Marion Co., IN census. Thomas was a Widow. If there is anyone who could check for a death date for Ellen Theresa Meenan "Nelly / Nellie", she had to died between 1884 and 1900. The IRDA does not have the pre 1916 death dates for Sangamon county. Or maybe someone has a city Directory anywhere from 1884 to 1900 that could look and see if there was Meenan or Menan that was living around Springfield.
