Does anyone know where Cotton Hill Station, IL is? It is listed in the 1912 Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois and History of Sangamon County of a relative of ours. I did a search on Geographic Nameserver and it finds nothing. Thanks. Patty
Patty, I don't see exact reference to Cotton Hill Station, but do find the following: 1912 Hist. Enc. of IL and Sang.Co., page 713 &714: Cotton Hill Twp., Sec. 14, T14N-R4W - In 1837 the village of Cotton Hill was platted on the southeast quarter of Sec. 14, the plot being recorded June 2. The village has since been vacated. Ball Twp., Sec. 2, T14NR5W - P. O. established 1862, changed to Sugar Creek, changed back to Cotton Hill 1888... 1914 Atlas page 54 shows Cotton Hill P. O, Sec. 2, Ball Twp. Hope this helps. At 04:33 PM 07/22/2000 -0400, you wrote: >Does anyone know where Cotton Hill Station, IL is?
