Can you give me more information, dob, dod, place, etc.? The Huffman's that I am looking for are related to Moses Huffman who lived in the area. I believe that John may have been his brother's son. If so, I can break your "brick wall". Moses was my 3rd great-grandfather. Thanks, Florence

I guess they will remain nameless unless we can find some baptismal records for a church NW of Springfield in Gardner Twp. Thanks again, Carole

The closest is probably in Morgan County, just inside the county line....Conlee/Rohrer Cem. There is a reading of this overgrown cemetery at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmaga/morgan/cemetery/conlee.html There are two in Auburn Twp (Auburn borders Talkington) near Thayer....West Grove & Thayer. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilsgs/ilcemetery-mz/sangamon.html The above link will take you to a listing of cemeteries in Sangamon County on the Illinois State Genealogical Society web site. The compiler, Joan Lund, did the whole state and it is generally pretty accurate. Mary Ann, where is the closest cemetery to Talkington in Sangamon? Given the township location I'd be inclined to also look across the county line at Morgan at Macoupin cemeteries. Cheryl Rothwell

John was born in Ohio abt 1816 and married Perella(?). He does not appear in 1880 census. Henry was born abt. 1819 in Ohio and married Mary. I believe that John and Henry were brothers and possibly children of Abraham and Elizabeth Coffel Huffman. Abraham was a brother to Moses Huffman who also lived in the area. Any information on the parents or siblings of John and Henry would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Florence

I've never been able to find their graves. There were also 2 Reeves wives and 6 children who died before 1850 and they are "missing" too. ~Any~ spelling of Reeves will do. Thanks, Carole
