Havener (mother was Eleanor Upton & father was Dominick Havener). Are these the same Havenars you are related to? Why I'm e-mailing you is because I am trying to research my Indian heritage on the Havener side. My mom said when she was a child they went to visit our relatives on the reservation in Oklahoma but that is all she knows. She does not know what kind of Indian we are which is what I am in search of. I'm trying to find out if Benjamin Havener was a full blooded Indian and if so from what tribe etc...... I'm just getting started and was wondering if you know anything about Benjamin that might help me? I spent several hours last night on the rootsweb.com site which is now leading me to you. I am so grateful for whatever help you can send my way. Have a wonderful day and I hope that I hear from you soon. I currently live near Chicago, IL and am originally from Decatur, IL. Thank you - Gayle Bisesi www.gaylebisesi.com

When I came to the Alexander Brown I was curious. I have a John Cathcart who married a Mary Brown in 1828. They named a son Alexander Brown Cathcart. John was born in Armstrong Co. Illinois. I don't know where Mary came from, but I did notice your Browns were in Illinois also. There are a lot of Marys and Brown is a very common name so there is probably no connection, but I thought it was worth checking into. Thank you Russella Cathcart my e-mail is cathcart@ptsi.net

    2. For persons not familiar with Springfield, if you are searching for a family with Masonic membership/connections, be sure to check the records of Roselawn Memorial Park (located between Springfield and Riverton), whose office address is: 437 South Grand Avenue West Springfield, IL 62704 217/525-1661 Roselawn is not limited to Masonic members/families, however.

I did some quick lookups to try to help you. Your John Morris Clark was born in Dec 1897 according to the 1900 census. According to his WW1 draft registration he lived in Clark County in 1918 with his mother Ella V., worked for the National Biscuit Co. in Springfield as a salesman, and was born Dec. 9, 1897. The Social Security Death Index has a John Clark born on Dec. 9, 1897 who died in June 1978 in Sangamon County, Illinois. The Sangamon County Library in Springfield has an obit index. I don't know if there is anyone who checks this out for free. I do know that you can go to mollx.com for an inexpensive way to find Mr. Clark's obit.

I'd be happy to phone you also. My mothers brothers were John LOIDER , Lawrence LOIDER,and a previous marriage Harry Wilson & William "Bill" Wilson. They all lived in St Louis at one time on Broadway. I have not searched LOIDA but will now. Joseph Loider was my ggrandfather. My mother told me once that one of her brothers ran away and left his two little boys with his wife. Could be just a story.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Clark Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xg.2ADI/2859 Message Board Post: I am in search of information about a very distant cousin, John M. Clark, born in 1898 to Robert H. and Ella Victoria Hutchinson Clark, in Clark Co. Illinois. John apparently moved to Springfield before 1930. In the 1930 census, he was listed as a salesman for a biscuit company. He had married at the age of 21, but was divorced. His mother (also divorced) lived with him in Springfield. He has a brother Robert, who was living in Philadelphia in 1944, when Ella died. She was returned to Marshall, Clark Co., for burial. That's all I know about him. Can anyone suggest places to look? I looked but did not find him in the Oak Hill Cemetery. I live in South Carolina, so I'm not likely to be in Springfield any time soon. Thanks for any information . Peggy
