I could not find one. If you find one, there will be links at this web site to the UIS IRAD. 3. There is no reason to believe the person who inquired on the message board is on this list and can see your helpful replies. S/he should be but I don't know that they are. It does seem like the Sangamon County Clerk is high for such records. However, if it is one from 1821 I'd get it from IRAD for $1 and forget the county clerk. SANGAMON MARRIAGE LICENSE APPLICATIONS 1879 1916 UIS 4/0262/01 SANGAMON MARRIAGE LICENSES 1821 1901 UIS 4/0314/01 I will point out here, also for people probably not on this list, if you are in a county that was once part of Sangamon the marriage records for that period are at IRAD in Springfield. I've gotten several for early Logan County marriages. Cheryl Rothwell

    3. Marriage records are available from the Sangamon County Clerk's office. They have marriage records back to 1821, I believe. Address for the Clerk's office is 200 South Ninth, Springfield, IL 62701. By the way, last time I got records from the Clerk's office, it cost $19.00 per record. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <ILSANGAM-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 4:19 PM Subject: Re: [ILSANGAM] William, Emma, & Fannie Beard whereabouts after 1880 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Beard > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.illinois.counties.sangamon/2869.1.2/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Hi again! I have family tree maker and if you do too, it would be easy to share. Let me know. If we share a common genealogy program, I can send everything to you easily. 1. [ILSANGAM] Immigration Databases
    2. Cheryl Rothwell
    3. In case you haven't been blessed with several emails on the subject, Ancestry.com has extended free access to the immigration database through the end of the year. I wouldn't wait to the last week if you are interested. What you get varies by source. Sometimes it is just a listing which they have transcribed. Sometimes it is a copy of the microfilm. Hint: to avoid endless offers which force you to sign up for a "free trial" if you want to copy the microfilm right click and save image as. You can print it later if you feel the need for another piece of paper to file. Remember, the databases at Ellis Island and, before Ellis Island, Castle Garden, are free all the time but they only go back to 1830 and only for people who came in through NY. http://www.ellisisland.org/ [1892-] http://www.castlegarden.org/ [1830 1913] I do not know why Castle Garden has some records to 1913. Mostly they are through 1890. I suggest using Stephen Morse's search tools for your on your own searches of public databases. http://stevemorse.org/ Cheryl Rothwell

    3. The Message Boards have changed. I truly hope this new software is better than the new software they gave us for the mailing lists. Here are some point you need to know. "Community Guidelines" have replaced "Board Rules." Please familiarize yourself with these guidelines. Registration is now required before posting a message as part of an effort to reduce spam and help contributors keep contact information current. Threads are now listed in order of "last post." This means that threads with the most recent replies (or new threads) are displayed at the top of the list making it easy to quickly locate the newest message. Important Note: Your account username and email address have replaced the "Post Name" and "Post Email" on all of your posts. To update this information, please go to the message boards and click on 'MyAccount' in the upper-right of any page.

    2. Mary -- I am unable to help you with obituaries for Joseph and Mary ARCHER. However, if you are interested, I do have an obituary for their grandson, Harold N. ARCHER (1920-1993), son of their son Henry ARCHER and his wife Elizabeth PREHODA. Harold's first wife, Dorothy Bartlett JUDD, is my father's cousin -- she is still living, but her cognitive faculties are now very limited. I also have an address and phone number for Linda Lou (ARCHER) LUEPKE, Harold's and Dorothy's daughter, who is my 2nd cousin. Linda Lou would be the great granddaughter of your Joseph and Mary ARCHER. Guy I.
