    2. Carole Hammond
    3. Clara, I have a Reeves girl who lived NW of Springfield in Gardner Township. She married an Irwin some time before the 1850 census so her name doesn't show up with her living with her parents. I don't know her husband's name and I'm not really sure of her 1st name. Ailsey could be a nickname for Alice or even Elizabeth...like Elsie is. Ailsey was a daughter of Alexander Reeves and Effie Cummins of Gardner Twp in Sangamon Co. She was widowed or divorced by the time of her father's property was sold in 1864 and she was listed as Ailsey Irwin. She lived in Pleasant Plains, Sangamon Co. at that time. She no doubt had several Irwin children but I can't identify them. Unfortunately the 1860 census taker just used peoples' initials and not their full names. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Carole

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: rvwn48 Surnames: Talkington, Kirgan Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.illinois.counties.sangamon/4566/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for the parents of Lillie Marie & Mrytle A. Talkington. Lillie was born in Sangamon or Waverely Co. IL. in June 1880. When she was little, she went to live with Joseph and Sarah Kirgan of IL. I was told she had a sister Myrtle Talkington and found her living with Wiley Knowles, a minister, and his wife Ann. They are listed in the 1880 IL Sangamon Co Census in Auburn. Mrytle is 4 yrs old. Can anyone tell me if there are any church or school records for the Auburn area? I did run across a family in Sangamon Co. Auburn area that I would like to know more about. They are Jacob Talkington and wife Mary A. and their 4 children. If anyone could help me or tell me what direction to go, I would appreciate it.
