They Made their home in Athens, where all for children: Elmer, Alles, Florence and Fern (my grandmother) were born. All are dead and buried in Springfield. My grandmother died in Oct 1977. I am searching for Samuel Towers whose name was spelled TWOIS on the 1883 marriage certificate to Ledora Stephens in Schuyler county. The marriage certificate is the only thing I have found Samuel Towers on. Any help really appreciated. We know absolutely nothing about this man other than the fact he was my fathers father. This marriage produced 6 children-ROY,JOHN,OTHA,EDITH, HATTIE and GOLDIE.He left before my dad was born in December of 1896 so he had to have been in Illinois in April. Dad was born in Beardstown, Cass County but there is no birth record or any record in VVirginia or at the Cass county courthouse.I would appreciate some help as to where I should search to locate Samuel Towers.
