I just joined the list and wanted to see if anybody has any connections with: John A. Hughes and Isabella M. Lynchard who were married in Sangamon county 1863 according to the Illinois Marriage Index. They also had a son Charles Henry Hughes who was born sometime in 1864 I am assuming in Sangamon County. Are there any birth records anywhere for 1864?(since I realize the fire destroyed most records) Or would the census be the best place to look? Marilyn Oregon

Does anyone have a copy of the 1880 Sangamon census book? I'm looking for William G. Smith (age 24) and his wife Bridget Flemming Smith (age 23) who are likely living in Springfield or Riverton. I'm not sure about this, but I believe they will have at least one child by 1880. Thanks for any help. Jim Cook
Posted on: Sangamon County, Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Sangamon/1636 Surname: Bacon ------------------------- Sangamon County, Il Oak Ridge Cemetary I need the names and dates from my family plot in Oak Ridge Cemetary. I live in NC and cannot make the trip. I know the Bacon family plot is full and is near Lincoln's tomb. I believe there are about 10+ Bacon graves together. Names that I know are buried there are: William Calvin Bacon, William Harrison Bacon (1/11/03 - 3/71), Irene Bogue Bacon, and others. I visited there many years ago and lost the pictures with the information. If anyone can help me by either copying a list of names and dates, or by directing me to some service that could assist me in getting this information. Thank you so much! My email address is: HartforGod@aol.com (Calvin Bacon)
While going 'through' my mothers things a few weeks ago, I found a baby picture that was taken at Scibird, Atlanta, Ill. and on the back she had written Wiesenmeyer?? - looks like it was taken in mid 1880's - but not sure - anyway, it is OLD. It is the kind that is hard cardstock and could have been taken during Xmas holidays as it looks like a scroll with berries at edges. It looks like a blond haired boy not quite a year old. I know there are/were a lot of Wiesenmeyers in Springfield. Mother had told me at one time, that her parents ran around with Wiesenmeyer in late 1890-1920 in Spfld. Since my mothers dads father(her grandfather!) was born in Atlanta, Ill. I'm thinking it might be possible both families were from there prior to moving to Spfld. She also thought her grandmother may have been related somehow with them and thought her name was Annie Baer/Behr, etc. Is anyone searching Wiesenmeyers in that area - Atlanta or Spfld. Marilyn - Fla.
