Does anyone have any idea how to find where someone is buried? I have searched for 6 years now to no avail. Lewis Weaver died April 22, 1853 Sevilla (Cevilla) Weaver died October 14, 1864 Frederick Weaver died September 23, 1842. Lewis Weaver, Jr. died July 3, 1842. They had a son & daughter living near Blue Mound, Macon Co. and a son living near Illiopolis, Sangamon Co. Would funeral homes have these records? Any help appreciated.

    1. [ILSANGAM-L] Calvary Cemetery Updates
    2. G Swoik
    3. Another 600 names have been added to the Calvary Cemetery Index. You will notice that Morris has separated the list into sections for easier browsing. A quick reminder - we have been striving to "read" headstones for burials primarily before 1909 since these are the main records that didn't seem to survive the "fire". It is disappointing to see how many headstones have deteriorated to the point of being illegible. This cemetery is huge, so the possibility of ever recording all sites is remote. If you are searching for burials after 1909, (that aren't recorded), you might try contacting the Calvary Cemetery office for assistance: Calvary Cemetery 2200 N 1st Street Springfield, IL 62702 (217) 523-3726 If you have information that you would like to contribute, we'd be thrilled to include it. Just make certain that you provide some proof of burial (Obituary/Cemetery Record/Death Cert) before contacting Morris. This will help insure the accuracy of the list. Good Luck!

    2. Pat Hansen
    3. There are two listings in the Illinois State Archives Marriage database for "Julia" Troxel. One married John A. MAXWELL in DeWitt county (surrounding county just north of Macon county) on April 11, 1867, License #: C/19. The other married Perin C. ESKEW in McLean county in 1837 (obviously not yours). So the first entry could be your ancestor. 1. [ILSANGAM-L] GOSS and Harris families 1850-1871
    2. Hello, Was wondering if anyone has information on a Riley C. Goss and Mary Thompson of Loami. Riley C. Goss is listed as being there in 1860. They had a daughter, Elizabeth J. Goss. There are conflicting reports as to where she was born. Family traditions say Mississippi, but certificates and census say Georgia. She was born 22 Aug. 1839 died in Portland, Oregon 27, Aug 1917. Elizabeth Goss married Oliver Foster Harris who was born in Illinois in 1839.to Zachariah Harris and Elmira Freeman Foster. They moved to Fredonia, Wilson County Kansas where Theodocia Melissa Harris was born in March of 1871. Thanks Craig Kinder Researching the following names: Foster Goss Sears Thompson
