    3. Posted on: Sangamon County, Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Sangamon/1871 Surname: Bingley, Morris, Hill, Gifford, Nance ------------------------- I am looking for a copy of the original book written by Parthena Williams Nance Hill. The tittle is," The Genealogy of the Bingley-Morris Family >From the Revolutionary War to the Year 1897" In 1952 Henry E. Gifford claims to own the original, a red hand written book. Does Sangamon County Genealogical Society have a copy in their files? Is there a family member of Henry Gifford who has this book and can I pay for a photo copy? Thank you. 1. [ILSANGAM-L] Town of Ridgely
    2. KAKallman
    3. I am constantly amazed at all the knowledge floating out there on this list about the history of Sangamon Co.and hope I can take advantage of some of it! My gr-gr-grandparents, Jeremiah KERIN and Elizabeth McCABE, moved to Ridgely in 1878 from Ohio. Jerry worked in the Rolling Mills for some time until they opened a general store. They lived on 8th St. and the store was at 1721 N. 8th St. There has always been a family rumor (not even enough to be called "lore"!) that Jerry was the mayor of Ridgely. I believe in the early part of the century Ridgely Village, as it was called in the 1900 census, was incorporated into Springfield. I have not had any luck finding out about this mayor idea or anything else about Ridgely and thought someone out there probably has a good idea! The Kerins had 9 surviving children, most of whom stayed in Springfield. Elizabeth died June 1924 and Jerry died in 1927. Patrick (spouse unkn.) 1868-1943 Louisa (KERVIN) 1870-1945 Annie (BLACKMORE) 1872-1946 Minnie (BARTON) 1874-1925 William (Mary LITTRELL) 1876-1936 John (Emma SHADE) 1878-1953 Elizabeth (SIDENER) 1883-1930 Joseph (Louise) 1884-1917 Michael (spouse unkn.) 1888-1934 Thank you for any information!

Posted on: Sangamon County, Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Sangamon/1864 Surname: Menary, Minairy, Hatfield, Williamson ------------------------- Hi, I'm looking for any information about Elizabeth & William Menary. In the 1850 Sangamon County census they are enumerated with T.G. Taylor, attorney at law, and his family. Elizabeth is reported as being 24 and William is 2 years old. Elizabeth married Rinaldo Hatfield in 1856 and is enumerated with him in 1860 and 1870, but William is not with them in either year. I have found no death record for a William Menary in Sangamon County or anywhere Elizabeth lived after her marriage. If anyone has any information about any of these people, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!!

    3. Try the Lincoln Library. They have Sangamon County indexed obituaries and may have this period. Their cost is usually about 50 cents per obit. Their web address is http://lincolnlibrary.rpls.lib.il.us/llhome5.htm Pat Hansen -----Original Message----- From: TLDean7001@cs.com [mailto:TLDean7001@cs.com] Sent: Friday, December 29, 2000 7:26 AM To: ILSANGAM-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ILSANGAM-L] Philemon Stout update Posted on: Sangamon County, Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Sangamon/1857 Surname: Stout ------------------------- The Philemon Stout I need information about should be the father of the one previously queried.
