    1. Re: [ILSANGAM-L] Locate relatives
    2. Hello, I do not have any direct connect with you that I am aware of but the names Brown and Ward hit a cord with me. My family of Brown's that settled near Springfield, Sangamon County are the Jacob J. Brown family. Their son Delos White Brown married Ruth Ann Morgan February 25th 1887 in Sangamon County. They were the parents of four children: James Thomas born abt 1826, Elizabeth 1826, Jacob Jones 26 May 1838 and Ward Brown. It's the last child who died in youth named Ward Brown that made me wonder if there is any connection. Let me know if you see a relationship of some kind. Thank you, Charlene Swan

My great-grandfather was James Frame BROWN, b. 29 Dec. 1891 in Streator, IL. His parents were Alexander BROWN (b. 1 Oct 1856 in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, Scotland) and Isabella Ferguson FRAME (b. 2 Aug 1870 in Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland). Eventually they moved to Thayer, where James's daughter (my grandmother) was born. James and his wife Josephine GALLETTO had 11 children, and about four are still alive. Sounds like my great-great-grandmonther might be your great-aunt. Email me if you want more details. Kent gene@wayson.net

    3. Posted on: Sangamon County, Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Sangamon/11942 Surname: Frame, Brown, Ward ------------------------- If you are looking for Aunts from Scotland in Sangamon Co, Illinois, and they settled there about 1890, I would get the 1900 census soundex for Illinois and find these names. They would be in Thayer, yes ? Or just jump to the full 1900 census for Thayer and go through it line by line. Couldn't be huge yet, and the 1900 census gave the BIRTH year and month, plus the birth state or country of each parent! With luck, the Aunts births are searchable in the Birth Index for Scotland, you have to know the year though. Thus the link to the 1900 census. Another route is to see if they may have had Social Security cards issued. The birthplace and date are noted on them. Copies can be ordered if they are listed on the Social Security Death Index. Go to Ancestry.com. They have it online, link on the homepage.
