    3. Did you check the Illinois State Archives for a free uncertified copy of her death record? They will do 2 requests at a time, and no new request until you receive a response. They have copies of death records from 1916-1947. Here is their web address for a request: http://www.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/archives/arcreq.s You can expect your answer between 4 and 8 weeks.     2. Barb, You can write or call the Lincoln Library at 217-753-4900 or write them at 326 S. 7th Street - Spfld, Ill. 62701. They will send you a photocopy of the obit if you supply the date of death and name. They usually charge .50 per copy. They do lookups from 1861 - 1934 and from 1960 to the present. Good luck.
