Hello all. The 10th Annual White Elephant/Book Sale of the Sangamon County Genealogical Society will be held on Friday, July 9 from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday, July 10 from 9 am to 2 pm. We have an interesting variety of books and periodicals for 50 cents each as well as a raffle and our regular publications all for sale those two days. The sale starts Friday night at 6pm and lasts until 8pm at the society office, 2856 So. 11th Street, Springfield (217)-529-0542. The sale will continue on Saturday from 9am to 2pm. We are selling paperbacks, hardbacks and periodicals at 50 cents each. Our regular publications will also be for sale at current prices and we will also be holding a raffle for a traveling genealogist kit. The only real information I have are her parents names: Asa Porter - b:May 16, 1771 and Florissa Cushing-Benjamin. Wish I could give you more, but that is all I have at the present time, and you may already have that information.
