Why don't you write to the cemetery and then to Lincoln Library in Springfield, they could probably send you a copy of the obit. He was b., 9-23-1887 and died June 1976 (social sec.) From the census, it looks like the parents were married in 1882.

Do you suppose Mary that d. in 1889 was his mother? It didn't give an age, but if you sent for the death certif. you probably would have a bit of information to help you out. 1900 Peter head b. 12-1848 51 Germany Germany Germany here since 1883 17 yrs. naturalized Locksmith Lena wife b.1-1864 36 Illinois Germany Germany Carl son b. 7-1885 14 " Peter son b. 9-1887 12 " Albert son b. 3-1887 11 " Frank son b. 4-1897 3 " Marie dau b. 4-1899 l " Joseph Bro. b. 12-1858 4l single Germany " " in 1910 George is b.and 2 others died. Albert Nisius I have not been able to find in 1920. By 1930 he is on his second wife, but he could have lived elsewhere after the war, he is listed as a veteran of WW. Peter had two wives also, and two daughters with his second wife, I do not know anything about their where abouts. Ellen

I have traced Peter Nisius and his second wife Mary or Lena up to the 1910 Census, he was born 12/1848 in Germany and she his second wife was born 1/1864 in Illinois. They are not found in the 1920 Census, but their son George who is 16, is living with and aunt and uncle, so I am guessing that they have both died. They are not on the 1916-1950 Illinois Death index, so I am hoping some one is working on the pre 1916 Index and can help. Thanks in advance, Ellen in Dupage Cty, Ill.
