I Hi List: I'm looking for Fred HAWKINS and wife Virginia (LEMONDE) and several children who would have been in Harrisburg, Saline Co.,IL ca. 1920-1930. In the 1930's he moved to Oakland Michigan. He was the proprietor of the Hawkins Grocery store until about 1938 when he went bankrupt during the depression .His family lived above the store. He had another wife, Ruth MAXWELL. It is unknown to me whether Ruth accompanied him or he married her there. After 1937he lived with Ellen JONES who raised his son, Joe, b. Jan. 01, 1937 in Oakland while running the store. Joe m. Rose Nora CONNERS Sept. 01, 1961.Whether the marriage took place in Michigan, I do not know. Rose was b. in NYC. Fred's health was bad because of lung cancer and his doctor told him to move to a drier climate, so he lived in Belem, NM where he died Jan. 19, 1947. He was buried in Harrisburg, Saline Co., IL Thanksfor any help, Bud in Godfrey, IL
