Joyce, I don't know if there is a connection, but my gr gr grandmother was Susan V. Young b. 7 May 1832 Tn., d/o of Jacob & Mary "Polly" Young who both died in Franklin Co., Tn. Susan m. my gr gr grandfather, Anderson Bird Randolph, whose family migrated to Saline Co., Il. in the mid 1840's. Anderson and Susan bought a farm in franklin Co., Il. where they lived until he was murdered during the Civil War, supposedly by a druggist in a disagreement over the war. Susan later m. Rev. William Goodman and moved to Alexander Co. She d. 20 Aug 1875 at Makanda, Il. I can find no connection with any other Youngs in the so. Il. area. Could there be a connection? I don't really know. Supposedly he was born 1818 Al. I know that there were Gooddmans in Pope Co. early on, but I don't even know who his parents or sibs were.
