I am searching for information on any BENNER or MAPLE families in Saline Co. John and Sarah Hartzel BENNER came to Saline Co. abt. 1860 from Scioto Co., OH. Two of their children married into the MAPLE family. I would be interested in any information on these two families. I know that some of these families are buried in Kious Cemetery in Brushy twp. I am searching for information on my ggrandparents that lived in Saline county, Stonefort and Carrier Mills area in the late 1800's, and early 1900's. My grandfather's name was John W YOung born november 1855, died 1934, was told in St Louis, Mo. He married 3 times to Sarah J (Tanner) Henderson aug 27th, 1879, she died jan 17th, 1880, then to Elizabeth "Betty" Boren or "Bourland" They had my grandfather Alonzo V Young on July 30, 1884 near Saline creek, Stonefort, Ill, williamson county. They also had a son named William born on May 17th, 1886, but he died in Jan 1887, then Elizabeth died later that year on April 10th. (Don't know what the cause of her death was, or where she was buried??? He then married Martha Jane (Boren) Henderson on March 11th, 1888. Think Martha was the ssiter of Elizabeth Boren, but no proof!! Martha had 5 children from a previous marriage, then they had a son, Ewing, who was born Mar 23, 1889. This is all the information I ahve on John W Young. I am trying to find out more information, like who his parents were!! Was told by one relative that they might be some of the Youngs from Caldwell county Ky, but in checking those Johns out, none of them match up age wise. His name might have been William L Young, who was married to Margaret Dunn??? My grandmother was Leona Brandon married to Alonzo, and my father Earl V Young was born there in 1911 in Stonefort. My grandmother Leona was a sister to Julia Brandon and Clara Brandon. Julia married a Henshaw. I remember them coming to Mo from Illinois, when i was growing up, which was in the late 40's and early 50's. I had 2 cousins that I lost track of namely Donna Young, and Sadie Young, that I played with in the 50's. Think they may have lived in Marion ill. If any of these names rings a bell and you can share any information, or have access to look-ups, would appreciate it. I have John's marriage license copies, and one on William Young and Margaret., but thats all I have. Oh yes, was told that JOhn's father name was Thomas H Young, but no proof of that either.
