Does anyone have any information about a Samuel L. Jones who married Martha Purvis? I believe they were married in Harrisburg, Illinois, sometime in the late 1800's. Martha's parents were Margaret (Gleeson) Purvis and John "Jack" Purvis of Harrisburg. Sam and Martha had six children (4 boys and 2 girls). One of the daughters was named Jan L. Jones. I'd appreciate any information. Sandy West [email protected]
Same here, there were no PURVIS marriages in Saline in that time frame. What were the birth dates (or at least app. year of birth) for Sam and Martha?? Where were the Purvis family prior to this, since there were no Purvis marriages in Saline (and only 1 in Gallatin Co) I assume they came here late in 1800's so their prior residence could be a clue to this marriage... Unless this marriage took place in a county that has not put their marriage records online (like Hamilton Co) there is no Jones/Purvis (or alt. spelling) marriage in IL in late 1800's...
