    3. This is interesting. My grandfather was Charles Riley Davis. He was born in Walpole, Hamilton, IL, and lived his adult life in Eldorado, Saline, IL. We have wondered where he got the name "Riley." Do you know what Davises Sarah married into? I know she lived in Saline, Williamson County in 1880. She was then a Parson. Her son's name was J. T. and daughter was Mary Parson Smith. Mary had a daughter Sarah Smith Davis who was my Grandmother and a son named Riley Smith. I think they lived in or near Saline all or most of their lives. Could this be any relation? > > Nita Davis

    3. Carol: Sarah Ellen Smith Davis married Aaron Davis. I cant be sure of the year but I know Grandpa Aaron also called Ale was born March 16, 1856 and died August 13, 1941. My Grandma Sarah Ellen Smith Davis was born Dec. 21 1873 and died Nov. 26 1947. Grandma was born in Jackson Port Arkansas. I found her in 1880 Census as a child of Mary Smith in Saline, Williamson County Ill. They both died in Ill. I can look up the county if you think this is in your line. Aarons father was I believe Aaron Davis also but it could have been a middle name. His mother was Una or Unie Henderson. I can help you more if you think they are in your line. Riley was my Grandmas brother and Great Grandma Mary Smiths son. Let me know if it is a match. I would love to know more and I have more information for you if it is.
