    2. ALFRED L. SWANSEY Thursday, January 01, 2004 SWANSEY, ALFRED L.; 86; of Harrison, passed away Monday, December 29, 2003 at North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell. Mr. Swansey was born May 12, 1917 in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of Charlie and Clarissa (Hull) Swansey, and was a resident of the Harrison area since 1972 coming from Waterford, Michigan. Mr. Swansey served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Swansey was united in marriage to Erma Dale Phillpotts on June 23, 1942 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri and she preceded him in death on October 20, 2000. Prior to his retirement he was employed for thirty-three years as an automotive inspector with General Motors Corporation Truck & Bus. He was a member of the American Legion and the Cedar Masonic Lodge of Clarkston. Surviving is a son; Larry (Diane) Swansey of Clarkston, Michigan and four daughters; Carole (Otis) Wilson of Midland, Michigan, Sandy (David) Sias of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, Kaye (Ron) Lundy of Ortonville, Michigan and Cheri (Randy) Umbarger of Harrison, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Kenneth (Virgie) Swansey of Pontiac; two sisters, Charlene (Ken) Combs of Waterford and Lorene Hand of Cape May, New Jersey. Mr. Swansey was preceded in death by a great great-grandchild, and two sisters, Irene Greear and Teresa Swansey. The family will receive friends at an evening visitation on Thursday, January 1, 2004 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, January 2, 2004 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Stocking Funeral Home Chapel. Members of the John J. Carton Masonic Lodge #436 of Harrison will conduct services. Graveside military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 404 of Harrison at Hamilton Township Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. JESSE LOUDEAN BARGER Thursday, September 11, 2003 BARGER, JESSE LOUDEAN passed from this earth on September 8, 2003 at 6:15 p.m. She was the mother of Kenneth D. Barger and Larry A. Barger but acted as spiritual mother to many others. She was retired from her position at the Clinton Valley Center mental health facility in Pontiac. She made her home in Pontiac for many years. Loudean was born on July 31, 1920 in Pope County, Illinois and married the late Harold (Pete) Barger of Eddyville. She was preceded in death by her youngest son Larry Allen and her sisters, Freda Cross, Wilma Lewis, Mildred Barger and by her brothers William (Bill) Fahr and Robert Junior Pugh. She is survived by her sister Delouris Beltz, brothers Russell and Lloyd Fahr, her son Kenneth Barger and his wife Sandy, her grandchildren and their spouses, Cheryl and Archie Blair, David and Kelly Barger, Peter and Stacie Barger, James Barger, John McCoy and Hope Butler, her great-grandchildren, David and Joseph Blair, Alexandra and Nicholas Barger, Jacob and Shiloh Barger, Aubrey Butler, Jarrett Riefers and Leila McCoy. She is also survived by her brothers in law, Bruce Cross, Paul (Pat) Barger and his wife Marie as well as by many, many loving nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by those who had the benefit of knowing her. She lived a long and happy life and her memory will be treasured by the many people whose lives she touched. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30. Visitation to be held Saturday, September 13, 2003 at the Aly Funeral Home, Eddyville, Illinois. Family at 5-6 p.m., and guests from 6-9 p.m. Funeral to be held at the New Home Church Sunday, September 14 at 1 p.m.
