This notice was on the Harrisburg Daily Register website this morning (see question below): Samuel Lee Grathler Sr., 79, of Harrisburg, died 9:24 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion. The family will be greeting friends 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 1014 S. Land St., Harrisburg. Arrangements are in the charge of Reed Funeral Chapel. He was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Harrisburg to the late Samuel Lee and Versie (Tucker) Grathler. On July 10, 1960, he married the former Phyllis Gibbons, who survives in Harrisburg. He was a core driller who attended Palestine Social Brethren Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Gary (Valerie) Grathler of Harrisburg, Roy (Marie) Grathler of Murphysboro, Troy (Peggy) Grathler of Harrisburg, Jeff (Wanda) Grathler of Creal Springs and Steve (Tammy) Grathler of Eldorado; three daughters, Lisa (Lee) Buchanan of St. Louis, Mo., Brenda Grathler of Harrisburg and Sandra Presson of Fort Campbell, Ky.; a stepson, Robert Noell of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren, Mycra Cook, Austin Buchanan, Samantha and Hannah Grathler, Cory Grathler, Tina Grathler, Karon Hooks, Jordan Grathler, Wyatt Grathler and Brianna Presson; a stepgrandson, Josh Noell; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Tucker of Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Lee Grathler Jr.; a grandson, Nolan Grathler; and two brothers, Lester and Robert J. Grathler.
