Great to hear from you and find a distant Cousin as such. I parents say that grandma was very proud of the randolph side, and parish side. I guess she was just proud of her family. I am Very intersted in getting more of the Randolph line put in my FTM file. I have a Samuel Richard Randolph born in 1824 as well as the samuel Peyton married to mary payne. I dont have his B-Day but his Death was in 1852 as i have it. If you have the correct info i would love to add it and correct mine. I would love to have access to the randolph site. What is the DNA test for? just to verify the link? What has been so baffling for so long on this line? Jan Patton-Harlow <jpatton@ij.net> wrote: We are from the same line of Randolphs. My gr grandmother, Eulalia King Randolph's (not the same line as my other Saline Co. Randolphs that I know of yet) was the d/o Nathaniel Easterly Randolph. Samuel's middle name was Samuel Richard, not Peyton. In fact, he went by Richard in Pope Co. My uncle Victor Randolph who just died a couple of months ago at 92, says that Mary Shrum's name is right, even though she is listed as Mary Reed on the marriage certificate. All my family is buried at Sulpher Springs Cem. And so is William Johnson. I'm so glad to hear from you. I have been looking for a DNA donor from this line for a long time. I belong the the RandolphMyFamily site and would be happy to send you an invitation if you would like. This line is one that has been baffling for years. The cost of the DNA test is $99 and three of us are willing to pay for it if you kniow of any living Randolphs from that line. Would it be possible that you do? John Wm. and Mary Reavis Randolph has not been found before move to Pope Co. in the mid 1840's from Tn. We are not even sure which county in Tn. Let's talk some more. Parish, The DNA test will show us which Randolph from whence we came. There are several and they are not all from the Peyton, or as we call it the Va. line. That's why we need it. I guess we need a descendant of one of the latest Randolphs from this line that we can find. I know that Benno died last year before I could contact him. I think he had some sons but don't know who they are. He lived in Paducah. Our Samuel was not married to Mary Payne, but had 4 wives, two of which he married in Tn. I'll be happy to call you but it will have to be after I pull out some files, Maybe I can do that tonight or tomorrow. I had a computer crash a while back, and, you guessed it, I did not have a back-up. I was always going to do that and . . . Did you grow up in Hbg.? I'm sending this through the Saline list, hoping another of our "cousins" will see it. But, feel free to send me any future mail to jpatton@ij.net; Jan Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Parish Tanner" <parish@parish-tanner.com> To: <ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 9:35 AM Subject: Re: [ILSALINE-L] Harry Truman visit > Great to hear from you and find a distant Cousin as such. Jan, Thank you, I dont see a DNA test being an Issue. I can do one. My dad is still around but dont know that we need to have him do it. I grew up in Springfield, Ill. My dad is still there in the house may Grandparents bought in 1942. they are both burried some where in Harrisburg and would love to get pics of the headstones, as well as any of the ancestors to post on my site http://www.parish-tanner.com/Parish/RandolphFamily.html I would also love to get any more history i can on this branch of my family to post. You may call me when ever. When i am at home the cell is hit and miss but give it a shot and we can chat. I have also just found a Eppes-randolph site that links to Thomas Jefferson. Kind of interesting. http://members.aol.com/CHUICY/eppes.html Talk to you later Jan Patton-Harlow <jpatton@ij.net> wrote: Parish, The DNA test will show us which Randolph from whence we came. Doesn't the subject line "Harry Truman's visit" need to be changed to reflect the actual subject of the message? Charlotte
You are right, and I have just started corresponding privately with some of them. Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "J.
