The Saline County Genealogical Society book, "Saline County, Illinois Probate Records Vol. 1" has a reference to a probate for George Dew in 1850-51. I wrote to IRAD at SIU for a copy of those records, but received a letter saying they can find nothing re: George Dew. Does anyone know where these records can be found? Are they at one of the county offices? Or does the Genealogical Society have actual copies? Thanks for any help and info. If anyone has any info about George Washington Dew, I would appreciate it. He was in Saline in the 1830s and 40s, dying there in 1850. I am especially trying to find the cause (and possible interesting story) of death. Thanks Nancy
