Hi! You folks have recently mentioned a family by the name of Hancock. Would this Hancock family be any relation to a John M. Hancock? First wife, Drusillann Blackman, second wife Mary Ellen Warren Carr (my 3rd gr grandmother), and third wife Rachel C. Renfroe. He was born about 1814 in KY. His first marriage occurred in Gallatin County in 1837. The children I have by this first marriage were John, George, Simon, Josiah, Jerome, and Benjamin. His second marriage took place in Pope County. The children I have by this second marriage are Charley Wade and Rosetta. The third marriage took place in Saline County. I don't have a record of children by the third marriage. John M. Hancock died sometime between 1873-1880. It seems that John Hancock's children tended to stay around Stonefort. Rosetta for instance married Willia Blackman in Saline. If you check the various censuses, you will find them counted in Stonefort township. I'm just curious if anyone is out there who might have a connection with this family, and if anyone might have had anything about the Carr family passed down to them. Thanks! Robert Schneider
