MITCHELL, MR. RAY W., A memorial service for Ray W. Mitchell, 100, of DeLand, who passed away on Saturday, June 10, will be held on Friday, June 16 at 7PM at Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand with Dr. David Goodroe officiating. A native of Harrisburg, IL, Mr. Mitchell moved to DeLand in 1943 from Griffith, IN. He retired from Florida Public Utilities in 1971. He was a member of the F&AM and Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand where he had served as a clerk since 1953. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his son, Bob Mitchell of DeLand, his daughters, Mary Ann Popa of Richmond, VA and Marcia Pencka of Mims, his sister Lucille Martyn of DeLand and eight grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. The family has requested memorials be made to either Stetson Baptist Church, 1025 W. Minnesota Ave., DeLand, FL 32720 or Hospice of Volusia/ Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
