I see Golconda on one of the articles, but the articles are about Eldorado and Carrier Mills as well as Pope County. Are there copies of the paper in a So. Illinois library? or are the articles printed here from copies in a personal collection? It appears that the newspaper would be a source of a great deal of information about many people and happenings. Joan Joan, newspapers are a great source of information. The H-E has been published in Golconda since, well as Uncle T. SCOTT said the Civil War, I just sent in my subscription last week. Several people have abstracted it from time to time. Bonnie Barton SKAGGS did three volumes from Dec 1917 - Dec 1921; Faye Morris BOWMAN did Obits 1926-27 & Obits & News 1928. I know the Golconda library has it on micro-film and as Susan said your library can order it or any others from the State. The ones I shared are some I gathered over the years.
