Clarissa was in the 1860 Saline Co. Census @ 1 yr of age. I believe that Alfred TUTTLE was the son of a previous marriage. Clarissa TUTTLE, I believe, married a Wm. ABNEY b. abt 1858, the son of Wm. J. ABNEY and Mary RICE. Do you have any information about Martha MANDRELL? My records show that some of the MANDRELL family moved to the Cherokee Indian Territory in OK in the late 1800's. Sue Sue, I am not a MANDRELL descendant and have not really done any MANDRELL research. My info comes from Saline census records and a posting on the Sumner County TNGenWeb page. It is under Family Album Biographies and titled, "Descendants of Solomon Mandrell 1730-1833". According to this post, the children of Jesse TUTTLE and Martha MANDRELL are Frances, Lucy, Rodman, Elizabeth, Benjamin, James Alfred, Martha, Jesse, Hubard, and William. Your Clarissa might be the daughter of the younger Jesse TUTTLE, brother of James Alfred. The parents of Martha MANDRELL are given as Solomon MANDRELL and Sarah MNU. You might want to check out the Sumner website for more MANDRELL info. Also, I would suggest you search the TNSUMNER mailing list. I recall a recent discussion of the MANDRELL line which took place there. -Robyn
