Hi! I am descendant from the Kane's, Armstrong's, Berry's, Mings', Carnahan's, Welch's, Pearce's.....there might be more....but from that area. In 2001 I took a road trip from Ca (Lake Tahoe, where we now live) and had a ball finding all the ghosts.... Karnes Rd does relate to your family - I believe it has to do with the old farms. Our family is tied to the old Kane Farm in Long Branch, where the Kanes/Mings/etc built Long Branch Baptist Church and a school (in 1861-ish)....in the old church records we found for Cottage Grove (and graveyards), Galatia, etc.....we saw many many Karnes listed. Also in the bigger, new cemetery in Harrisburg itself. My ggfather was a Baptist minister and atty (W. C. Kane) and he is mentioned with a Karnes quite often. This probably doesn't help much....but if you can get to the Geneological Library in Harrisburg, there you will find lots of info about the older families in that area. Galatia is such a small spot that Harrisburg keeps most of that, or so we found for our family. Now, to find where the Armstrongs from Omaha went/came from/etc!!! :) Good Luck and Cheers for you to pull together a family reunion....I have been trying to do that for 10 years!!!
