"Bud" COOK Jr., 80, passed away at 6:06 am Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in Harrisburg Medical Center. Frank was born March 13, 1927, in Benton, the son of Frank Esten COOK Sr. and the former Clara Hartin, the grandson of George W. and Emma Phillips COOK and the great grandson of Braxton and Sarah Jane Webb COOK. He married the former Ida Francis Taylor, November 29, 1947, she preceded him in death September 7, 1995 He was a retired auditor for the Illinois Department of Revenue. Frank served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was an active member of the American Legion, VFW, and a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by a son, Mike COOK and a daughter, Roberta Ann COOK, both of Harrisburg. Two grand- children, Amy (Andy) MURPHY and Jeremy (Elizabeth) COOK. Two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Andrea MURPHY as well as many nieces and nephews. Kimberly, Karol and David COOK, all of Peoria, Clara MEYERS of Pennsylvania, Laura GENSBURG of Colorado, Richard WALTON of West Frankfort, John and Lee Evelyn WILLIAMS of Sesser and Linda KENDROIT of Mississippi. Services will be held at 11:am Friday, July 27, 2007 at Gaskin-Jones Funeral Home in Harrisburg with Rev. Paul Widicus officiating.
