Robert, Nancy HAMILTON was the daughter of Thomas HAMILTON, who was born 1762 NJ. Thomas married Elizabeth GWIN. Thomas served in the Revolutionary War in the NC Line. Thomas and Elizabeth HAMILTON lived in Sumner Co., TN for a number of years. Thomas HAMILTON moved to Gallatin Co., IL in 1836 to be near his sons, Thomas, Jr., Jacob, and Frederick. His daughter Nancy married John Hampton PANKEY. There is a second Nancy PANKEY. Our Nancy was born around 1803 in Sumner Co., TN and moved to Gallatin by the year 1823. Her brother, Thomas, Jr., had a son by the name of John HAMILTON, who had a sister Margaret. There is a Thomas HAMILTON who married Susanna MICK in 1836 who was a minister. He traveled from Gallatin Co., to Williamson where he preached and married several people. Not sure if he is related to our Thomas HAMILTON, father of John HAMILTON. There was another John HAMILTON who lived in Gallatin in 1818. He married a woman by the name of Dicey Reed, or Rice. Not sure which name. Dicey had other children. This John may have been a minister and could have been the father of Rev. Thomas HAMILTON. Later on down the road, there was a Rev. Robert T.
