    3. Is the Smith Cemetary about 12 miles outside Galatia, IL still there? Does anyone have information on my great grandfather, Dr Charles Absalom Smith, a medical doctor who died October 23, 1881 at age 56. His wife was Eliza Ann Kittinger who was born 4/13/1885 near Equality and the old Salt Works. She died October 31, 1910. My grandfather, the first of 12 children was born May 23, 1835 and died April 11, 1918. I would appreciate any information or suggestions for information. Thanks! Mary Unger, Keizer, Oregon

Mary, This is probably of no value to you, but I have a Lewis Kittinger family in the Saline Cty, East Eldorado 1910 census, Supv district 15, Enum district 96, sheet 1B, line 34. He's a farmer, age 52. Wife Calinda, age 49. Children are a 19 year old farm laborer son, name something like Wallis or Walies (hard to read). Daughter is Lola, aged 17. And there's a hired farm labor man named Robert Simpson, aged 18. My wife Mary remembers neighbors named Kittinger when she used to visit her grandmother Hannah on their farm in Eldorado, probably in the 1940's. -- Bill Gusky DeLand, Florida
