Hi Saline Lists, I am just wonder if you might know. If my Levi Boyd's family was living in Illinois for a while (he was a farmer, what the census said), then what is in the Arkansas that is so important to moved the family. Was there more crops or something in Arkansas or more fertile ground, whatever? Then when Levi Boyd died, the wife had moved the family back to Illinois. I am just curious. Do you have any clues on why they migrated back and forth? Thank. Teresa from Oklahoma
The move from IL to AR. was due to clearing of timber for fields and homes the logging was great along the rivers. So the farming would have been good also. There were lots of jobs in the late 1800 and early 1900's so people went to Ar. for work.
