I have been researching the families of Albert Alvis and William G. Anderson. One can clearly see they moved from Orange County N.C. to Warren Co. KY. in the early 1800s and then moved to Saline Co. IL. What has always been a puzzle that I can't excplain is Albert Alvis had a brother, John Paul Anderson who married Elizabeth Karnes 6/30/1833 in No. Gallatin, Il. Her parents were Jacob Karnes and Amelia Williamson. They had ten children: Milly [m. King Holiday],Martha [m. Alexander Braden], Sarah [m. Polk Dillingham], William Voltaire, Mahala [m. Ruffus Mitchell], John Runner , Cimantha Rachel, Stepe Douglas [m. Nancy Parks],Melissa Ellen [m. GW Jewell], and Polly [m...Stricklin]. The brother John Paul was born in N. Galatia, IL UK 3//9/1811 and eventually decided in Saline Co in 1889. The puzzle is all his brothers and sisters born before and after him were born in either in Orange Co. NC or Warren Co. KY. Can anyone confirm I have a good birth date and place which means my family would have moved to Warren Co. KY [gone to or moved to Galatia, had a child , returned to KY and latter returned to Saline Co. IL. Confused. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Deanna's Email" <tobi@onlinemac.com> To: <ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 03, 2000 9:34 AM Subject: Re: [ILSALINE-L] Re: ILSALINE-D Digest V00 #380 > Faith, YES.. this is the Karnes family I am researching. Hi Charlie, Where did you obtain your info that Elizabeth was dau of Jacob. Have you seen copy of marriage license or anything? I just looked on 1850 IL cen where it shows her born in VA. I show all the rest of Jacob's children (including my connection, Ellenor) as born in TN and IL. There is an opening for her after Ellenor, but this would put her between two TN births. There is a sister to Jacob named Elizabeth, that would have probably been born in VA, but that would make her too old to be the one on 1850, I think, but maybe not if she is a change of life baby. George, Jacob's father, is reported to have died in 1816, or at least his will was dated then. Possible he recovered. I was glad to see a wife for Jacob listed, as I don't show who his wife is. I don't know if they were in KY any or not. I am interested in finding marriage date/license for Eleanor/Ellenor and William Tate. Any ideas? If the info you have and I have is correct, this would make your Elizabeth a sister to my Eleanor (my gggrandmother) Faith ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charlie" <andersonc001@hawaii.rr.com> To: <ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 03, 2000 14:55 Subject: Re: [ILSALINE-L] Re: ILSALINE-D Digest V00 #380 > I have been researching the families of Albert Alvis and William G. > Anderson.
