Forgive me for sending this message for the third time this week. I have never gotten any back as being posted. I don't think I have been recieving all the postings for this site so I re subscribed again. I will probably get double postings of some now. If I do, does anyone know how to fix it? ----- Original Message ----- From: Roger Owen Sent: Thursday, December 28, 2000 2:43 PM To: ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Sarah Ellen (Turner) Owen Could someone tell me what Funeral Homes were in Harrisburg Illinois in 1907? Was it or one of them called the Harrisburg Funeral Home? Would there be more information on a person and their funeral that what is contained in the Harrisburg Funeral Home Records Book by Bernard W. Moore? On page four of this book it list the death of Owens, Mrs. Will.; Died May 26, 1907. Charged to Will Owens. Order given by Alf and Sherman Owens. Funeral sevices 11: a.m., May 28, 1907, and burial at Big Ridge Cem. I believe this is my great grandmother Sarah Ellen (Turner) Owen but would like more information and proof of this fact if availible. Will. I believe is William Temple Owen and Alf is Alfred C. Owen ( who was a younger brother of William's) and Sherman is Sarah's and William's son (my grandfather Walter Sherman Owen). If more records exists on her death that would maybe give her parent's names and other information. Sarah according to their marriage record would have been born about 1858 or 1859 if the age given on their marriage license was correct. It says she was 18 yrs. old in September of 1876 and living in Independance Township at the time of marriage to my great grandfather William Temple Owen. I would appreciate any help on finding more information on her and her parents. I have been to the Courthouse and Library in Harrisburg but have been unable to find her death certificate and the newspapers didn't go back that far.
