I am researching the John Henry Cotton family. I have much of the facts in the books about the cemeteries, marriages, etc. I have come across some puzzling information. Dora Cotton (1863-1897) married Matthew House (or Hause)a first marriage, on April 20, 1896. Someone had sent me information about a Dora (Cotton) Parsons who died in Harrisburg, who was 74 yrs. old at the time of death. Her father was William Cotton, born in TN, and her mother was Sarah Simpson Cotton, born in Illinois. This was an obituary from a book I thought. I am away from my home, and I don't have access to this information as it was sent to me, so I have no dates. My question is: could this have been the sister of John Henry Cotton? His daughter died in 1897, so she would not have had time to marry the second time. Or is something wrong with the birth and death dates of the Dora who married Matthew House? She would have been 21 when she married Matthew and he was 22. According to her birth & death dates, she would have been 33 at the time of her marriage. Were there 2 Dora's? I am so confused.
