> Barbara Burr Hubbs - Might she have researched Hubbs family? Did Hubbs > family settle primarily in Williamson County? > Barbara grew up in Jackson County I believe. She married Stanley Hubbs. They lived in Chicago during the late 1930s when she wrote about the Old Slave House. She is descended somehow from the Russells who settled in Williamson County. I think her father taught John Mulcaster in school and both John and Barbara were members of an early historical society in Jackson County, or at least two active researchers in the area. In 1939 she published a book on Williamson County called Pioneer Folks and Places (I think). The Williamson County Historical Society has nice hardbound reprints for sale.
