Hi, I have about ten pages of information, stories, etc. on the Beasley and Irvin families. These were my Grandpa's ancestors ( Wilbert Miner). If you would like to have copies, I'll gladly send them to you if you'ld like to send me your address ! Along with documented information, there are stories that my Grandpa tells about growing up with these people.( Clarkey was one of his favorite Aunts !) (He passed away just a few months ago, at the age of 94). Anyway, it's very interesting. If I can be of any help to you, please contact me at NovaB@aol.com Sincerly, Nova
Nova, If these stories are not copyrighted (i.e. from a newspaper or book publishing in the last 75 years), and are in electronic form, would be you willing for a copy to be uploaded to the Saline County ILGenWeb page? Nova, I have not done any research on the BEASLEY's, but I have some on a lateral branch of my TROUTT tree. My dad's sister, Mabel TROUTT, married Ernest Robert BEASLEY in 1918 in or near Carrier Mills. 'Uncle Earn' was born in 1896 and died around 1981. His obituary says that his parents were Charles and Winnie (MOFIELD) BEASLEY. It also mentions surviving half brother Clyde BEASLEY and half sisters Mrs. Marie STEVENSON and Mrs. Rita POLLACK. The obit. states that brothers Walter and Fred and sister Mrs. Bessie CURTNER preceded him in death. If your BEASLEY information relates to this family, I would be interested in having a copy. Thank you for the offer. Bingo! The words Smith County, Tennessee rang a bell! My gg-grandfather, George Thompson Armistead (1824-1899), along with his family and brother, Joseph Armistead, left Smith County, TN by wagon train in 1867 and came to southern Illinois. I understand there were quite a few settlers in this wagon train. Does anyone have any more information? Nick Questell Researching the Questel, Questell and Armistead family lines.
