Hi Everyone I posted a similar request a couple weeks ago and didn't receive any replies, so I'm trying again. I am planning a trip on Thursday to Saline County in search of information pertaining to the COONS- RICE families. Isaac COONS and Mary E. RICE were married in 1872 in Saline County. I am seeking all information available on this couple. Plus, of course, tons of other COONS family ancestors. The COONS family has proven to be somewhat elusive. Also searching for Martin COONS, Jr. - Saline County abt. 1850 My questions are: Where would you all start besides the Courthouse? Is there a library with a genealogy section? Do they have a Historical Society? Where are the cemeteries located in Saline County? Any information anyone can give me will be put to good use on Thursday. Thank you all so much, Sharlene Coontz Meyer

Hi Ginger, I checked out the site. Thanks for the direction. My problem is I can't find Mary Elizabeth RICE anywhere before the 1880 census. Maybe she was adopted and took her adoptive parents names. She was married to Isaac COONS, from whom I am directly descended. Thanks again, Sharlene Coontz Meyer ----- Original Message ----- From: GingerH <gingerh@shawneelink.com> To: <ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 10, 2001 9:10 PM Subject: Re: [ILSALINE-L] COONS, Isaac/RICE, Mary E.
