    3. To all of those who have requested maps of Saline County Townships, I can recommend the Land Atlas and Plat Book of Saline County that is distributed by the Saline County Farm Bureau at 21 West Robinson in Harrisburg, IL 62946. Their phone number is 618-252-6992. I believe the cost is somewhere around $12, but you would need to check this first. They are spiral bound and have each township separate. The cemeteries and churches are marked, but not by name and you would need to know where in the township the church and/or cemetery is located. The Cemetery books from the SCGS have these directions with each one. I am not involved in the sale or proceeds from any of these publications, including the plat books, just offering a suggestion. Best wishes, Barbara

    3. Betty and all, These plat books have proved to be invaluable to me. The roads and highways are very clearly marked and they provide an excellent resource for people (such as my husband and I ) that aren't familiar with the area. I take mine every time we visit because we always try to go to an new cemetery/church that we haven't before. These maps also show the names of the current property owners, so you might see some familiar surnames there!! Best wishes and good luck on your trip, Barbara Betty Phillips wrote: > Thanks Barbara, that is very helpful..Betty Phillips > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Charles Crain <oldfogeys@charter.net> > To: <ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, February 11, 2001 6:09 PM > Subject: [ILSALINE-L] Township Maps > > > To all of those who have requested maps of Saline County > > Townships, I can recommend the Land Atlas and Plat Book of > > Saline County that is distributed by the Saline County Farm > > Bureau at 21 West Robinson in Harrisburg, IL 62946.
