Donna, I have no knowledge of Charles Sartain in IL. My family has always spelled the name Sartin. I suppose your Charles could be related, as there are several Charles' in my family. One Charles Sartin is said to have died in Carthage, TN, ca 1855 as a young boy. I have an uncle named Charles Edward Sartin, but he was named after his maternal grandfather. Sorry I couldn't help!
