    1. Bankston Fork Baptist Church

    3. I especially enjoyed the article about the Bankston Fork Baptist Church and was wondering if anyone on the list has this material. I am especially interested in anything about Richard/Piety Isham. Anyone out there researching this line? Donna

    3. Hello Mary Ann, John T. Neely 1st married Margaret J. Pritchett 27 April 1873 in Williamson County., he then married Sarah (Seller) Bradley (Sarah was first married to William C. Bradley 17 April 1870), 28 Feb 1884, this Sarah was 27 yrs of age in 1884, which would make her birth year at abt 1857, and the Sarah Smith married to Rufus Smith was born abt 1854. I am thinking that this is most likely two separate Sarah's. But who knows? I have surmised all of this from records that I obtained in Williamson County a few years ago. The nephew Ernest Neely living in the home of Rufus and Sarah Smith is a nephew to John T. Neely. I do not know when John T. Neely died, however this Sarah Smith would not be a blood relative to Ernest, only through marriage. According to the census record that I have for 1910, Rufus and Sarah Smith had been married for 15 years, which was only one year after the marriage of John T. Neely and Sarah Bradley. Have I lost you yet? (grin) I sure am reading and rereading to try to keep this all straight. I do agree with you that it was very easy for the people to leave their county and go across the state line to be married. I have some ancestors from Rockwood, Randolph Co., IL, and they sometimes went to Perry Co., Mo. to get married. 2. Debbie - I know some of my Saline Co. relatives married in MO. and it would be conceivable that they go over to KY. or Indiana because all are so close. I looked in the Marriage records and I found a Sarah Bradley md. a John T. Neely on Feb. 28, 1884 in Williamson Co. Could that be Sarah Smith's first marriage???? Mary Ann <cematapey@aol.com>

    1. Margaret Wade from England
    2. Gil Hall
    3. I wonder if anyone has the Cemetery or Death Indexes for Harrisburg, Saline County or even Harrisburg Obits.? One of my ancestors was Margaret (Maggie) WADE who died in Jan 1969, according to the SSDI records. She was born Margaret HALL in England in 1891 and once settled in America married Walter SCOTT, from Ohio, who died in 1918. They had two children, Sarah Eleanor born 1909 and Harry born 1913. Harry married Virginia PICKFORD and their daughter Carol SCOTT was born 1 Jan 1946. Maggie then married Walter WADE and they had a daughter Margaret in 1924. I have her family details from the census', but haven't found her exact date of death. I am looking for any descendants of Maggie (my late father's cousin) or her sister Mary Ann ESTES (nee HALL). Their two brothers were both killed in mining accidents and one of them, Thomas had a son Robert HALL, but I haven't been able to find him on the 1930 census. Either Sarah Eleanor SCOTT or Margaret WADE married Attorney Victor FURMAN, but I cannot find which one it was. Any details will be gratefully received. Regards, Gil. HALL, Southampton, England.

    1. Carr families in 1850 Saline census--anyone tracing these families?
    2. LDF Fly Fishing Tackle
    3. Hi! Is anyone out there tracing the Carr families who were in Saline in the 1850 census? They seemed to have done a pretty busy land business in the early 1850s. In the 1860 census, I can't find them. My interest relates to the fact that in the early 1850s, my Carr family moved from Alabama into Stonefort. I don't know whether mine were related to the earlier Carrs but I'm curious. Thanks! Robert Schneider LDF
